Table Top Tuesday ~ Cherries Anyone???

Check out Marty's over at A Stroll Thru Life and join in on the fun!

Thought I'd give you a partial tour of our new kitchen. This isn't exactly a tabletop, but use your imagination bloggies! LOL

Who says you can't mix primitive w/vintage?? I was aiming for a more 'farmhouse' style this time around after having an 'country' apple theme in 3 different kitchens over the yrs.

The walls are actually a creamy buttery yellow(than what the picture shows) called 'Banana Cream' in SW paint. We went a shade or two lighter on the bottom half. There is actually beadboard wallpaper down below, but you can't tell unless you're standing 2 ft. away, which is a bit disappointing to say the least.
I love this little cabinet, because not only does it hold things inside the doors, but it has not one, but two shelf-like areas that can be decorated.

I found several of these cherry pieces at an estate sale last summer. The polka dot plates and pitcher I found at Marshall's. Can you tell I like 'red'?My MIL found the salt/pepper shakers at a flea market and I found the matching sugar dispenser months later at a country/prim store.

This little cupcake has a candle inside. The vintage doily was only $5.00 at that same country/prim store.
This is actually a spoon rest, but I'm using it for decor.

A good friend of mine made this cherry tile for me using rubber stamps.

Here's a few more dishes that I found at that estate sale. The neat thing about this shelf is I can change out the dishes seasonally if I want.

After eating on a dinky little table for almost 23 yrs. that barely seated 4 people, we are enjoying having a much bigger farmhouse style table to eat on. We took out the 2ft. leaf and the 2 extra chairs awhile back and it is still plenty big. I have so much fun decorating the table now, although it looks a bit bare in this pic.

This is a close-up view on one side of the shelf.

This one hangs on the other side. I hope you enjoyed my mini-tour of our new kitchen. I will try to post some more pics of the rest of the kitchen real soon! It's not all decorated w/cherries, but you will have to come back to find out what the rest of it looks like, so stay tuned........
Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
Tanya
