Snow Day # 7 and a laundry room tour

I love snow days!

I am looking forward to spring as much as anyone else, but I just try my best to be thankful to the Lord for all things, yep, even the white stuff. It is so pretty coming down and makes everything sparkle, especially at night.

I've been enjoying staying in the past few days and am working on a couple of craft projects. Yes, I'm finally getting my mojo back! YAY!!! One is for my kitchen, it's a cross stitch project w/a black bird and a cherry pie and the other is one for spring. It's a prim bunny head using wool and boy is it working up fast. I will show both when I finish them, but for now I thought maybe some of you would enjoy seeing some pics of my house.

The first pic is one of our old laundry room, then the next several involve our newly built and redone laundry room.

These are unfinished cabinets that I painted a really dark red color called "Sundried Tomatoes" by Sherman Williams. They are actually much darker in person, almost a burgandy color. The color of the walls is actually darker too. It is called "Golden Fleece" from SW. I tried to blend them w/the colors in the wallpaper border. I still like wall borders. How 'bout you?

This candle bobbin light is actually a little more burgandy, but looks more purple in the pic. The flash makes everything seem a bit brighter, sorry!

This is the opposite wall ~ I love the little sign w/the beagle puppy. It says in real small letters underneath him, 'training available'. The rest of it reads, 'laundry services, help wanted'. But this shows the truer color of the walls, depending on what time of day it is. LOL

This tablerunner is one I made a couple of yrs. ago. It is sitting on top of the pie safe my m-i-law gave me recently. It holds all of my Christmas dishes. Kind of an odd place to put one, but it fits the space really well. I will have to show a full pic of the pie safe soon, as I couldn't find one I took not too long ago.

I probably would have chosen a black washer/dryer instead of white, but at the time we bought these I didn't know what colors we were going to end up with in this room and the room wasn't even built yet.
My hubby, Mr. Fix It did all the work and just recently added the 'faux tin' backsplash.

Well, I hope you enjoyed viewing our new laundry room. I forgot to get pics of the window and valance and a couple of other things, so I'll have to post them later. Stay tuned........ and hope you are enjoying your weather wherever you are!

oooooooooh! I wish I had a room like that! I think people underestimate the room they really need for doing laundry! I have a small cubby upstairs(which I love) but looking back, should have insisted on building it bigger.

oh! well I'll just enjoy yours!
I love your makeover!!!! great job!
hugs~

I love your laundry room. I wish I had one like that. The colors are wonderful! You posted a comment on my blog. Yes, we are neighbors! I live in South Point. My favorite prim store in Ashand (I guess it is considered Ashland) is Pat's Place. It is fantastic! To answer your question, I bought my frames at A.C.Moore. I love them because they are already distressed. I signed up to follow your blog!

What a pretty laundry room! Love the colors!!
My laundry room is the one room in the house where I still have a border and I think it makes the room more fun to be in.
